Hip to be Square – American Psycho (3/12) Movie CLIP (2000) HD

Do You like Huey Lewis and the News? Yeah… They’re okay. Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste But when Sports came out in ’83, I think they really came into their own; commercially and artistictly The whole album has a clear crisp sound and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He’s been compared to Elvis Costello but I think but I think Huey has far more bitter, cynical sense of humor. Hey, Halberstam? Yes, Allen? Why are there copies of the Style section all over
the place? Do you have a dog? A chow or something? No, Allen. Is that a raincoat? Yes it is! In ’87, Huey released this, For!, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is … “HiP To Be Square,” a song so catchy most people probably don’t listen to the lyrics. But they should because it’s not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends, It’s also a personal statement about the band itself. Hey Paul! Aaaaagh! Try getting a reservation at Dorsia now, you fucking
stupid bastard! You fucking…. Bastard!

  1. Hey Everyone, I’m a logo designer and graphic artist.

I have Patrick Bateman’s exact design from American Psycho already made, if you want his card design. The printing costs $200. That includes typesetting the card with all your information.

If you want Paul Allen’s card, I charge an additional $35 because he left me with a bill at Dorsia for over $1000.

Please email me and I will give you a discount on printing. The business cards are designed, printed and shipped for that cost. I can do different fonts if you’d like. 500 business cards is what you receive. Bone/Natural White/Linen/Watermarked all available.

Email me for a portfolio of my work, samples of my card designs, and let’s get to work!

  2. I connect with this scene on such a deep level. Only those who have someone they hate to the point of wishing them dead can relate.

  3. You're not suspicious about the tarps over the furniture or the newspapers on the ground under your seat or the fact that he's wearing a rain slicker? You deserve what happens

  4. 1:01 it was at this moment that he should’ve ran and fast as he could, as far as he could, for as long as he could.

  5. REAL JOKER…BEST JOKER EVER. TOLD YA' BATMAN AND JOKER ARE SAME PERSON… BIPOLAR PSYCHOPATH BILLIONAIRE LIKE MARK SUCKERBERG (SOCIAL MEDIA) & BILL GATES (ASTON'S JOBS)… PHILANTHROPY ON THE OUTSIDE, PSYCHOPATH THIEVES IN THE INSIDE. NO EMPATHY TOWARDS OLD FRIENDS.

  6. Real footage of Christian Bale proving to Jared Leto that The Dark Knight trillogy is better then Suicide Squad.

  7. There would be zero blood spatter evidence on the ceilings and walls after that. But thank god he put newspaper down.

  8. I've watched this scene countless times and just realized he put on the music to mask the sounds of the murder

  9. I love that this is what pops up when i google "Hey Paul" My names not paul, but i like to think about those who are

  10. Whenever Patrick is talking about music, he is quoting critics. Unknowingly he overcompensates his inability to "feel" music with a comprehensive knowledge about and chooses per general popularity. He is desperately trying to be in touch with humanity…

  11. Conceptually, this savage cartoon ends up as trapped in surfaces as its shallow antihero: it's all dressed up with nowhere to go.

  12. @뿡뿡! ^__^ oh, of course, I see – another ''expert'' online, thank you, you don't have to preach to me about acting, because I happen to be graduate of a film school, I have been working in the industry for several years and I know one or two things about cinema and acting. And Bale is an absolute genius here, the American Psycho script without all Bale additions is available, you can read it, it's even on YouTube, and without those important details that Bale added by himself it wouldn't be half as brilliant as it is. If you think that every actor has such an excellent sense of detail and character and adds such '' little unimportant things'', then you just proved how you know nothing about acting. Actors often have to be completely lead by the director, they are uncharacteristic and flat, Bale is the opposite of this, he always has an idea for a character.

Bale is underrated only by ppl, who have no idea what real acting is about. Hint : it is not about being loud and shiny, and having ''cool lines''. Its about subtlety. Schools in acting are different, Bale is a minimalist, but a brilliant minimalist. And he obsessively cares for details. I absolutely adore him as an actor. But you have to be more than 10 yrs old to value Bale’s minimalism. He is the only actor I know, who can tell more by doing less, in such powerful way. He is meticulous. I love Bale’s unique approach – a feature that can be seen in Bale’s entire career and for which I love him even more. Even when choosing movies, he always seems to turn left when everyone else, most A-listers, go right.

this is actually brilliant part of the recent review of American Psycho, explaining why Bale is a genius in this role and only he could do it : ''Of course, none of this would work without Bale being smart enough to understand the gaze he’s operating within. Harron recounted in an interview with Black Book that Bale “had been watching Tom Cruise on David Letterman, and [saw that Cruise] had this very intense friendliness with nothing behind the eyes, and he was really taken with this energy.” Bale plays the character without exhibiting any need to be liked or understood, something it’s hard to imagine a star like DiCaprio daring. DiCaprio takes a swing at this sort of toxic masculinity wrapped in a false power fantasy in Wolf of Wall Street, but he failed to go far enough in embracing the character’s inherent unlikability. Bale’s Bateman is alternatively a mad dog, a shallow con man, and a charismatic mask hiding existential unease whenever the film calls for it. American Psycho recognizes Bateman’s physical beauty and how it can operate as a shield for him. The camera travels over his impressive body, emphasizing how this visage obscures the darkness underneath.''

So thank you for your ''very intelligent'' opinion lol

  13. I love how casual he talks about the music and just walks around even throws a little moonwalk in there while preparing to kill him. Made me laugh so hard.

  14. Selamun Alleykum

Killing someone means killing all of the humanity.

The person who killed someone will be sent to the Hell by GOD

Because murdering to someone is the one of the biggest sins.
