THE DISTRICT HAS BEEN UNDER STATE CONTROL FOR FIVE YEARS. THE BOARD ALSO VOTING ON WHETHER TO END RECOGNITION OF THE LITTLE ROCK TEACHERS UNION. FOUR PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED AT A HOME IN MOUNTAIN HOME áá DURING THE SEARCH OFFICERS WERE ABLE TO LOCATE METH AND OTHER NARCOTICS. IN THE SECOND SEARCH WARRANT áá OFFICERS ARRESTED TWO PEOPLE. OFFICERS FOUND LOADED WEAPONS AND METH INSIDE THE HOME. ((MALLORY)) IN THE RIVER VALLEYá INVESTIGATORS FIND SKELETAL REMAINS IN FORT SMITH. OFFICERS WERE NOTIFIED OF POSSIBLE HUMAN REMAINS ALONG WITH CLOTHING IN A WOODED AREA NEAR RIVERFRONT DRIVE. CAUSE OF DEATH, TIME OF DEATH, AND IDENTITY HAVE NOT BEEN DETERMINED. ((MALLORY)) AND IN WASHINGTON COUNTY áá A BODY WAS FOUND THIS MORNING NEAR THE SEVEN HILLS HOMELESS CENTER OFF SOUTH SCHOOL AVENUE. WASHINGTON COUNTY CORONER, ROGER MORRIS SAID THE BODY WAS RECOVERED AROUND 11:15 A.M. AND COULD NOT BE IDENTIFIED. THE BODY WAS SENT TO THE ARKANSAS STATE CRIME LAB IN LITTLE ROCK TO DETERMINE CAUSE OF DEATH AND TO IáD THE BODY. AS OF NOW, THE DEATH HAS NOT BEEN RULED SUSPICIOUS. ((MALLORY)) AN ATTORNEY IN UTAH AND ARIZONA á WITH TIES TO NORTHWEST ARKANSAS á HAS BEEN INDICTED IN AN ADOPTION SCHEME. SOME OF THOSE CHARGES INCLUDE HUMAN SMUGGLING, SALE OF A CHILD AND COMMUNICATIONS FRAUD. IN A PRESS CONFERENCE EARLIER TODAY áá U.S. ATTORNEY OF THE WESTERN DISTRICT OF ARKANSAS á DAK KEES á SAID PAUL PETERSEN FACES 19 FELONIES IN THE STATE OF ARKANSAS.
